Fat_Librarian 21 Posted August 11, 2012 I am just one-day post op and am not able to drink very much of my shakes before feeling full, but then I'm hungry less than an hour later. Is this normal? What am I supposed to do since I have to stop drinking 30 minutes prior to "eating", but my stomach is growling during this time?
kll724 3,055 Posted August 11, 2012 It's called head hunger! But, when you are only 1 day post op, everything is liquids, so you can drink freely all day long. There is no such thing in all liquid diets as not drinking 30 minutes before eating! You are not eating! Best wishes, and hang in there. It will get better. Calm down! lillieb53 5 Posted August 11, 2012 If you're just one day post op you should be on all liquids. In the liquid stage the 30 minute rule is null. Liquids are liquids. It's ok to drink as often and constant as you wish. Hydration is important for overall health and healing. So is Protein. It's hard to get them both in right after surgery but, do your best. Congratulations and much success and your journey!
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted August 11, 2012 I agree with lillib you should be only on liquids not shakes. Milk, juice, Protein water..... Revisit your eating plan or contact your surgeons office for clarification, you don't want to harm yourself after surgery....
