How To Overcome Plateau?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm pretty sure I hit a plateau and just was wondering what you found to work to help overcome and continue with weight loss. I am down 56 pounds overall, about 20 since surgery on 6/13. I work out and usually do something different every couple of days so I don't get tired of the same stuff and I track on my fitness pal. Thanks for your suggestions!

honestly I go to straight lettuce and Protein and no eating out. I can do this for about two weeks and then it just falls off. What works for me is no sugar and no eating out.

I have had luck shocking my metabolism. I normally eat around 900-1000 calories a day. When I hit a plateau, I will have 1400 calories one day, 700 calories the next day, then back to 900-1000 calories a day.

I don't do this unless I've gone at least 2 weeks without a loss, I know I've been eating right so it's not a matter of food choices, and I'm not on my period (because I know that can cause Water weight gain).

But the two times I've done this, it's worked and I started losing again.

Sounds like you're too new to plateau? Have you had a fill? Do you have any restriction? Do you count calories?

Until you have restriction it's just another diet...B-52

I would consider a plateau as not losing weight for one month. But you're probably still in bandster hell?

20 lbs is great btw. What I do to overcome a plateau is to consume liquids for 24 hours followed by 6 days of Atkins no carb dieting. I also exercise very heavily every day at least once.

I have had a fill, 3 cc. I don't eat anything not allowed by the doc and I count/measure portion. I go back again on August 20 for another fill. Thanks for the ideas.

I'd try calorie cycling as well. Good luck!
