My first slip was accompanied by severe pain any time I drank even a sip of liquid, no way I could have eaten. Being unable to keep food/liquid down can definitely be a sign of a slip, however, it could also just be that your band is too tight. I highly recommend you get it taken care of immediately, as regardless of what it is, it's not good for your band to be slipped or too tight.

Good luck!

You may have something stuck. I've had it happen where I'm going along fine and then suddenly something I could always eat starts to cause problems. If you are uncomfortable for more than 2 days you should go see your dr. A tiny unfill may be all you need.

Hi! I had a weird spell just like this over the weekend! I was eating stuff I normally did and then had a spell where I couldn't even get Water down and the last fill I received was in March. I got stuck pretty bad Saturday but was able to flush it down, however Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I couldn't eat or drink anything. Went to my surgeon's office yesterday and got 1cc removed and voila! I was better! The nurse who does my fills said that ANYTIME you get stuck no matter how bad, your stomach gets irritated and inflamed which is what probably was wrong with me. Did you have a bad episode with getting stuck and maybe your stomach is inflamed? If you did and don't want to go to your surgeon, my nurse, Joann, told me to switch to liquids for 24-48 hours and that would give me time to let the swelling go down. Good luck! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
