Torani Sugar Free Syrup ?'s

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have DaVinci Caramel Syrup for my coffee, but have heard a lot of people talking about Torani syrups. I checked out http://www.torani.com and found the most wicked flavors in sugar free.

If you've tried them,

1. Do you like them?

2. Is it the exact same syrup they use at McDonald's?

3. If you have a bottle with you, what are the nutritional stats? I can't find the values on the site.

U se Torani all the time. Right now I have sf coconut. The only place I've found this particular flavor is at food 4every Less. The stats r:

Serving sz: 2 TB

Calories: 0

Fat: 0

Sodium: 5mg

Carbs: 0

Sugarts: 0

Protein: 0

Really its like adding splenda to ur coffee. I luv the syrups! Especially sf coconut and sf caramel

Thanks marfar7! :D

Can't beat those stats! I want to try SO many flavors in my coffee. Does your SF Coconut have any aftertaste? The Torani site has so many flavors to choose from.

Thanks for responding!

I have the Torani SF coconut, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Some bought at Walmart, some at sams, some at target. Never any after taste in any of them that I've tried.

I don't drink coffee but I add them to my Protein shakes and hot cocoa, as well as pudding and oatmeal every now and then. I was adding the coffee mate Creamer but like these SF syrups better plus the nutrition stats are better.

Some ways I use:

chocolate Protein Drink + coconut tastes like almond joy

strawberry Protein Drink + vanilla tastes like a strawberry creamy milk

Chocolate Protein drink + Peanut Butter + caramel tastes like snickers

Cappuccino protein drink + chocolate, caramel or vanilla makes it extra tasty.

I usually mix them up and put in freezer for a bit to make it a little slushy. Instant milkshake taste!!!

Also add the flavors to pudding and pancake batter. Once I start using them I try I find as many ways to use them as possible.

WOW!!! I LOVE your combinations! And I was afraid I had to buy them from http://www.torani.com, but I have Walmart and Target near me, I'll have to give those a try. The more obscure flavors I'd probabley have to get online. And the site gives you recipes! I also see on here, various Protein shake recipes that use the syrups, but I get most of my protein from food (per my surgeon and NUT's request) And I like that you experiment!

When you say Protein drink , do you mean drink or powdered mix that makes a drink? I ask because I don't want to pay through the nose for powder, and I'd like to try the protein drinks/mixes. Just curious.

I actually use the Protein powder...I can't seem to eat before lunch time except maybe fruit, cheese sticks or yogurt, so I usually have a Protein drink. I've never bought the ready-made so I'm not sure but you won't know until you try it, right? Start with maybe a capful at a time and see what you like.

The syrups are sold near the coffee or tea. The SF ones have the blue label, regular have red labels. Walmart actually had a better selection than Target, but not sure if that is everywhere. I was even surprised at the selection at sams club; that's where I found the coconut. I would like to buy more flavors, just need to make sure I will use them! Since you mentioned it I will go check their website for recipes. Eggface also has recipes on her blog, mainly for protien shakes and protein ice cream using the syrups. Those might be of interest to you also :)

Have a great one!

I've been to eggface's site and am very impressed with her Protein drink recipes, and the shear amount of them!

Odd that you mention her... SHE is the one who made me interested in Protein shakes in the first place!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
