BeeBlueHeron 87 Posted August 9, 2012 I caved and had a Nutri-Grain bar yesterday, but I still have more than two weeks to the surgery, I won't have any "accidents" after Sunday, I swear! My sister is getting married on Friday, so I have two days of travel now.....wish me luck! We will all get through this together. Hi Binab! Lap band sisters, yeah!!! cassiem93 39 Posted August 9, 2012 My worst part is work. I am ok at home because i can get away from my kids and husband while they are eating but at work they just eat all around me and it kills me but.. what does kill you always makes you stronger! 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this
fostermomma 39 Posted August 10, 2012 I'm also 8/27! My Dr. only has one pre-op option - 2 shakes and a Soup (any kind). At the support group last night, it was mentioned that those of us in preop could add fruit and such to our shakes as long as we mixed it up smoothy-like. I am going to email the nutritionist tomorrow and verify before I do it, but I can see how adding a banana or something might be a bit more filling and add some flavor. I have been told you can add fruit but to NOT add bananas(my favorite) because they have too much natural sugar in them. 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this
healthymomof3 8 Posted August 11, 2012 I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one hungry, some days are ok but then there are the others that are terrible! Yesterday was a bad day! I was so hungry all day long, but I made it through, only two more days to go! Surgery on Monday! 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this
bonnielynn07 17 Posted August 11, 2012 Me too. STARVING and irritable. I start clears tomorrow and have surgery on Friday' date=' 8/10. Nervous! Pennie[/quote'] What does it mean when you say "clears"????
jschulgs 14 Posted August 11, 2012 I ate grilled chicken and veggies for every meal and had green tea and lots of chicken broth when I was actually hungry. I did not eat little amounts (maybe this isn't the best advice) but so far I've survived. I did one week preop diet LIKE THIS and I lost 7 pounds. I think it was more the type of food I was putting in me not the amount. (NOW ITS ALL ABOUT THE AMOUNT) 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this
mrslogan0612 12 Posted August 11, 2012 I am so hungry!!!! It's only the end of day 2 and I keep thinking like how do I have 16 more days of this and how will I get through it. I have my preop with my surgeon Monday. I hope they tell me I can have broth or something. 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this

Ive was told to avoid Bananas (even though I love them in shakes normally) because they are really high in sugar (which turns into carbs= bad). What I did was get the cut up party platter fruit trays since I can eat up to 1 cup of fruit a day. I have the french vanilla EAS protien shake and I threw in a couple chunks of pinapple and ice in the blender this morning for Breakfast and it was really yummy. 3 binab, BeeBlueHeron and clarks4willie reacted to this
hls50 20 Posted August 11, 2012 My surgeon dosen't require you to lose weight before your surgery, just to do a 10 day pre-op diet that will shrink your liver so it's easier to get to your stomach. It's liquid only like most and very specific as to what Protein Shakes you can have. I can also have Sugarfree/Fatfree popsicles and Jello. My surgery is on Sept. 11th and I guess I will start on the 1st of September. I already know it's going to be tough, but I can do it for 10 days to finally have my surgery......... 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this

WendyMay 13 Posted August 11, 2012 I'm not "there" yet, but I don't look forward to tht diet! However, I do look forward to the results of that diet, my lapband. Perhaps trying to keep your focus on the outcome will help? Hope so. Wendy 1 BeeBlueHeron reacted to this
