202 And Hanging On!

Recommended Posts

Aahhhh!! I have been 205 for 3 weeks, then in the past week I lost 3 lbs! WoOhOo! Down to 202 from 276 and super excited about getting under 200! I set these silly goals like "Weigh less than my bro at 250". Check. "Weigh less than a friend at 220". Check. My next goal is the 200 mark and I'm really excited that it is actually happening! I haven't weighed less than 200lbs in 15 years!! My next goal is to weigh less than my hubby at 190. Does anyone else use these silly goals to make time fly?!

I set monthly goals along with my big overall goal. I want to be at _ _ _ by the time I have my next fill (since I'm still going in monthly). My doctor would like a 4 lb loss between each fill, so I like to at least double that for my monthly goal.

Setting goals really helps keep the vision! Plus, a little competition never hurt anyone ;)

I am right there with you. My first goal was to weigh less than my husband. He was sick this summer and lost 28 pounds. Now I am chasing him :) But my next goal is to break 200 and like you I am close at 203. So keep it up and down we go!!

Totally agree. The little goals help so much along the way!

Congrats everybody! I am being very careful with my diet over the next week. My next fill appt is Tuesday and I want to weigh in below 200! I usually weigh myself everyday, but I'm trying my hardest to stay off the scale until then. Haha. I may cry if it happens! Wish me luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
