I had a reduction 4 years ago. I didn't know really what to expect going in as far as sensation and stuff after surgery. My doc told me there was a good chance there would be no change in sensation. My nipples are still fairly sensitive but I have several areas on my breasts where I have hypersenstivity or no feeling at all. I am also more scarred than average. I had an allergic reaction to the vycril sutures which caused heavier scarring.

Overall though I would do it again. I lost 6 pounds of boob alone! As soon as I was able to sit up and stand after surgery my back immediatley felt better. Now I have the problem of my belly being bigger than my girls. Hope to change that soon with the band! :biggrin1:

Hi All,

I will definitely need an uplift when (if) i loose the weight. I need a lift NOW, so i can only dread what they'll lool like when they've lost the volume. It's so not fair, i'm only 26 but have the boobs of a 50 year old. Boo!

How do you go about finding the right surgeon? I'm in UK but due to prohibitive costs i will be seeking surgery in Europe. Anyone got any recommendations?

i have breast reduction surgery scheduled for april. my sis had it done 3 years ago. she lost most of the sensation in her nipples (i am not happy abou that)!!

i talked at length to my doc about that...he said that i will probably get most of my sensation back due to the way he attaches everything back together....i am hopeful!!!

i will let you all know how it goes!!

I had reduction done 25 years ago and lost most of the nipple sensation. If the temp drops and one of my sons are around he'll make the comment, "a little nippley in here, huh mom", so that part still works on its own.

I hope to have reduction #2 done soon, just trying to get up the nerve to do the Tummy Tuck with it.

I am wanting to get a reduction and lift. Is there different ways that the surgeon can use that makes some people not lose sensation and other lose it. I have a girlfriend who had it done and she has no sensation, she says she likes it that way so when it is cold out she doesn't have headlight effect. But I prefer to keep the sensation....any ideas?

I was banded 2/31/06. Hubby has promised me that for my birthday next July that I can have breast work done. I have only lost 27 lbs and most of that has been in my boobs and feet and hands. My boobs were saggy to begin with. I imagine with will look like a blood hound one the weight is all gone. I will have to be given boobs where mine used to be. I would be happy with a full B or small C. Currently, well, last trip to Lane Bryant, I was a 44DD but now the cup looks empty. I cant wait for that birthday, I havent seen my nipples in years and when I look in the mirror, what I can see of them, well, they're cross-eyed. I'd be happy if they just cut me somewhere 'bout mid chest and attached them puppies to my shoulders. At least they would look perky. I know, Im awful, but honest.

I had my lift 2 weeks ago and my nipples are still numb but I will let you know if I start getting some feeling back. My Dr said if my nipples are overly sensitive to start with I probably wouldnt lose sensation, but if they didnt have much sensitivity to them from breastfeeding etc you were more likely to lose the sensation...which is me. But I will wait and see and let you know.

I had my reduction and lift about 5 years ago... I have "no" sensation in them but don't really care since i have plenty in other areas.

What I hate about them is they look like someone sewed a patch on the front of my boobs and they don't work at all... I don't get nippley from cold or anything. They are really kind of numb and I hate when I get an itch there because scratching feels weird!

I had my reduction surgery in 1988 and was so unhappy. I completely lost all sensation. I also keloided and have large scars. A friend of mine had hers done two years later and had no loss in sensation. Of course, I am sure they have come a long way since 1988.

I voted for a complete loss of sensation, but what I really lost was PLEASURABLE sensation. I can still feel there a little, but it does NOT feel good. I also have very little feeling on the sides of my breasts, and I agree with Cashley about the itching. They itch, but when you scratch them, there's no relief due to the numbness. It's the same feeling you get when the novocaine starts to wear off from the dentist's office. And forget about being with a guy who's into boobs...I just don't want to be touched there because it feels so weird. At least there are some ass men.

I had my reduction when I was thin, and it was more because my breasts were very saggy - I only lost a pound off each. They grew a little when I gained weight, but not much. However, the saggy thing is genetic. I now need a lift. No matter how small you make them, if you are predisposed to sagging, they will start sagging again on their own. And I didn't have the greatest surgeon, so they are different sizes and the nipples are in different locations - VERY noticeable when I'm cold.

I had a reduction when i was 19. went from a EEE to a D. And it saved my back. But I lost almost all sensation in the right nipple, and have become oversensitive in the left. I have to be really turned on for dh to get anywhere near it, or else it is painful. I also could not breastfeed the kids due to limited flow, but they got bigger! Now they are DDD and I will def need a lift and fill when i lose all the weight.

Ladies,

I hate to see the post that say "Women Only" This is liking telling a man not to look at Halle berry. We will look anyway.!! I think this is important information for me also, as we can learn about women bodies etc... I also peak at Comopolitian magazine for the articles, especailly when its subjecy is when " what women reallywant in bed". I hope you ladies and gentlemen understand the need for information for all.

Thanks

i am 32 and have old grandma boobs already and have for years. mine sag like basset hound ears . my nipples look like broken compasses...always pointing south.

i am literally flat chested with out my bra on to scoop and lift them back to where they are supposed to be. funny how my bf can tickle my knee and my boob at the same time with out moving his hand.

I plan on getting a lift and reconstruction after i hit my goal. I want to be a small c when all is said and done.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
