Stuck Episode Again Tonight, What's Up?

Recommended Posts

This is like the 3rd or 4th time now and I'm still in pain 4 hrs later. I had 2 slices of small pcs of breaded squash on my plate (I know, don't fuss, not the best and healthiest thing) but thought I could eat it but yet it was the only thing that came up finally. I have 4.5cc's in my band. I don't mean to sound dumb but I do not know what size my band is, never have asked, that's next on my list when I go in. Should I call the dr tomorrow and tell him I keep getting food stuck? It's to the point that the only thing I can eat is canned chicken in the form of chicken salad, cottage cheese, string cheese, oatmeal, Protein Shakes and fish and I'm getting tired of fish!!!

Try eatin the squash without the bread on it and see if that works.

If you're hell bent on having it then you have to chew, chew, chew and chew some more. It should be the consistency of paste when you finally swallow. If you feel you are chewing properly, then perhaps you are over filled and should talk to your doctor.

Is it your food choices Maybe? Might need to step back down to ful liquidsl and see if it still happens to help determine if it is food choices or if your too tight... Take care and keep in touch

Work harder on your band eating skills, use moist cooking methods, have tiny amounts of some kind of sauce with dense Proteins, and avoid anything breaded. I found early on that anything breaded was lethal. Like it got gunked up in my stoma. Blech.

The 2nd edition BANDWAGON. I love it it's a nice thick book covering everything to do with pre-during-post op lapband. I'm so excited I can barely stand myself...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
