tilly 5 Posted March 17, 2006 If you suffer from the seat belt in the car sliding up round your neck !! simply get a garden tie or a food bag tie and tie the bit that goes across your body to the bit that goes across your lap and voila no more riding up round your neck
nanahanna 1 Posted March 18, 2006 I hate seat belts that do that too! They always hit me on my neck! I bought one of those fancy things you do the same thing with and it never stayed on! I am going to try to twist tie thingy. Brilliant!
Magic 0 Posted March 18, 2006 Wowwwwwwwwwwww You brought an idea to my attention, what if the seatbelt is going over the port all the times. Since I got the band (1 month) ago I haven't driven yet. So did anybody face that problem???
vinesqueen 2 Posted March 18, 2006 Hi Magic, my seat belt doesn't come near my port since it's up high under my right ribs. It might be an issue for folks with a sternum placement (mid chest) though...
tilly 5 Posted March 18, 2006 mine goes right up against my neck! I kept pulling it down to the bit that goes around my waist and EUREKA mind you it only took 34 years of doing this for me to come up with the idea sooo it wasnt exactly Eureka lol
sleepyjean 0 Posted March 18, 2006 I hate those freaking seat belts. Sometimes I get annoyed and take the darn thing off. Here in Los Angeles, we have a seatbelt law. One time I got tired of the seat belt rubbing up against my neck and unfastened it. Wouldn't you know it - two minutes later the CHP pulled me over for not wearing it! PhotoNut 7 Posted March 18, 2006 My port is just under my ribs on the right side, and I'm typically in the drivers seat (usa - left side). The seatbelt hasn't been a problem for my port at all. Now rubbing on my neck is a different story! I hate that! I'm just sure I'd be beheaded if I were in an accident!
nanahanna 1 Posted March 18, 2006 We have that law too. I always wear a seat belt because I want to be a good example for my kids and grandkids. My son doesn't wear one and it scares me to death. But....when we are making a trip of more than a half hour I slip my right arm over the part that goes over your left shoulder and leave the belt across my tummy. I am always on the lookout for police though and am ready to scoot my arm back under it! I wonder how our kids and we got grown not wearing them? I know ....there were probably millions who died because of not having seat belts. ...and I cannot understand why school buses are not required to have seat belts! My children never rode one because of that and my kids are smart enough not to let their ride one either. I guess if you had no choice that would be another question....but we have always been able to take ours to school. There are just too many school bus wrecks nowadays. Magic 0 Posted March 18, 2006 Today I went for a drive, and I guess what. MY SEATBELT is way too far from my port:clap2: I have the port on the left side of my chest.. About the neck thing, I believe all seatbelts have an adjustment nob, where you can lower of higher the belt so it won't go over your neck. try to look for that and good luck:)
pepsi32861 0 Posted March 18, 2006 I had the same problem until I bought at Walmart a 6 inch piece of fake fur with velcro attachment that you just slip over the belt and lay where you need it, It works well for me now I just have soft fur on my neck. It is in the automotive department.
