Had surgery 3rd June this year... I lost 17lbs in the first 5 weeks and that's been it. ,He scales haven't moved either easy for 7 weeks now. I'm on mfp having 1200 of there about cals every day. Go lane swimming 2/3 times a wk. I have had one fill (4.5 .ml in a 14.ml band). I feel hungry all the time and I'm disappointed in myself.

Anyone got any tips what I'm doing wrong??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Xx

Maybe lower your calories to 1000 a day. I lost 18 pounds in the first 2 months so you are ahead of what I was at the same time! I was pretty good at keeping it that low for the first year. Now I have a harder time. Good luck, it will come off!

I agree with Holly Dolly, the first thing I'd do is adjust your calories and see if that helps

Have you met with a nutritionist? If not, I highly recommend it, specifically one that has experience with bariatric patients.

Try a low carb diet. It has worked for me. It might jump start your losing. The Protein fills me up

and keeps me full longer. I also eat smaller meals more often. My lap band doctor has me on

low low carbs, I eat lots of chicken, greek yogurt. and Protein shakes

. I add 2 tble PB2 and 2 tble no carb

chocolate sauce with 1 cup ice,1 cup almond milk and 1 scoop zero carb Protein powder and it is as good as any

milkshake I have ever made. It is thick and creamy and about 10 carbs.

PB2 is the powered Peanut Butter. low in fat calories and carbs

WaldenFarms makes the zero calorie, zero carb chocolate sauce

In addition to lowering your calories you might increase you exercise or activity level.

Thank you everyone for the tips and advice. X

I will try lowering my cals and carbs... I think you may have hit the nail on the head with that one, looking back at mfp I am eating lots of carbs.

I think the advice I have been given from my dietician is sketchy, no calorie goal was given just stay off certain foods altogether and eat from a side plate instead of a dinner plate...

Hang in there girls! You are in the "Fill" stage where you are past the operation loss and now waiting for enough fills to get your band to the Sweet Spot. It took me a long time and I was super frustrated as well. I don't know why the surgeons don't prepare us for this stage better. Some people call it Bandster Hell. I just call it Diet 101...... keep yourself in the diet mentality, eat more Protein, a lot less carbs and exercise. Each fill will make a small difference in your hunger and eventually you are there!

Remember my Mantra .... this is not a Race..... it's LIFE!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
