Sunta 5 Posted March 17, 2006 Hi! I think it's very normal. I did not get hungry until about three weeks out. When you do get hungry, you might get very hungry, as I did. I would say just enjoy this time for now because you're restricted from surgery, and enjoy the weight loss that comes with it. Now that my appetite has returned, I have not lost an ounce of weight! And to top it off, I'm starving alot of the time. My port incision is still tender, and I'm nearly four weeks out now. You're not yet three weeks out. Don't worry, you sound like you're progressing normally.
karenj 0 Posted March 17, 2006 i am exactly two weeks out today and feel like i could eat normal. the hunger is definately there. however, i have noticed that i can't eat as much and I don't have a fill.
PhotoNut 7 Posted March 17, 2006 The port incision will be the most tender of all your incisions. And it will take a while for your appetite to return. As Sunta said, it will return! Sip, sip, sip for now. Every day will take you closer to "normal" again. Um.. wait, let me rephrase that. Every day will take you closer to what you will come to think of as "normal". *laughs* The old ways are gone. Wave bye bye!
legallyKristin 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Dear God, I'm just 9 days out and I'm HUNGRY! Maybe it's because I've been so active, I don't know. I'm already walking about 2 miles a day. Can't wait for some REAL food! Hang in there! Kristin
Flower1 0 Posted March 19, 2006 I have also been very active, walking 3 miles per day...I feel a need to eat but, I know it is emotional. I feel deprived of fun food. Does anyone have a thought to help me through this? I just had the lap band surgery on 3/13/06.
legallyKristin 0 Posted March 19, 2006 I'm fighting head hunger too. Someone told me one time that if I start thinking about wanting food, I need to ask myself, "am I so hungry that I would eat a carrot?" Generally the answer is no, so I make myself do something else to occupy my time. I know it's not much, head hunger is HARD! But I hope that may help a little! Kristin
