Nadily09 0 Posted August 4, 2012 ...possible port flip? I had a little stomach bug on Wednesday night (8/1) around 7. This is the first time I've really thrown up hard since my banding a year and a half ago. Afterward I felt fine, no chest pain or band discomfort. I felt normal. I work in the nursing field and the next day after lunch around 1 in the afternoon I felt a little uncomfortable in my left side. It started out about 3-4 inches above my port. By the time I got home I was doubled over in pain unable to breath deep, cough or talk and it was worse laying down. I slept with ice packs and in the morning it wasn't as bad but it was still difficult to breath due to tender muscles in my abdomen. The pain was spreading though all along my left side. This evening I feel a little better but it's still extremely painful to breathe and it's excruciating to cough or laugh. It brings me to tears. I called the office this morning and the nurse said it could be a pulled muscle but I'm just not feeling any better. Does this situation sound familiar to anyone... or anyone who had a flipped port... was it this painful??
AmandaBelle75 14 Posted August 5, 2012 I was nauseated two weeks ago for the first time since being banded in April. The next day my left side hurt so bad I couldn't stand it. I ended up having surgery to remove kidney stones two days later. It was horrific! I immediately thought it was something to do with my band but it wasn't.
