Slowly Losing But Losing All The Same!

Recommended Posts

I went in to get my first fill since surgery last month. I was super surprised that I had dropped another 6 pounds in 2 weeks. I've been panicking about my food intake increasing but with the help of this site and it's members, I've been able to keep myself from being so fearful.

I knew when I went into the office today that it was possible I would not have lost anything, or that I might have gained a little. But when I looked at the scale and it said 280... I was so excited! To lose 13 pounds in about 6 weeks... that's never happened to me before.

I've also been paying attention to what I consume. I'm proud that I stay away from junk food and don't crave things as often as I used to. If I have a craving for something sweet or salty I just substitute something healthy versus bad for you.

I'm celebrating every little victory because no matter what it is... a victory is still a victory. :D

Congratulations!

On weight loss, it is slow for periods then fast then slow on what I'm reading. Some people lose quickly and other's are slower. I figures after Im banded Aug 6 as long as I'm losing and not gaining I will be okay. It took me a long time to be overweight so it will be a long process to lose all the weight I want.

Agreed! It won't come off overnight and that's fine. Best wishes to you next week on your surgery. ^_^

better to lose slow. it is natural to feel if you don't lose fast you will slip up, but I try to think of this band as a appetite suppressent pil and as long as I have it I can overcome the regain and the bad stuff.

congrats and keep up the good work

My weight loss has been very slow, was sidetracked by my gallbladder for a long time

I started last aug (aug 22 to be exact) at 230+ i didn’t even look the day of surgery as I didn’t want to know. This morning I weighed in at 194…..

I try to keep myself from beating myself up for not doing better….i am trying to remember if I didn’t have the surgery last aug I would be up to at least 240 and miserable

Bought a 1x shirt yesterday that is a little big…..i figure by winter I will be back in the regular department –look out credit cards

I was banded 8/10/11. I've only lost 45 lbs, but I figure it's better than gaining. It will eventually come off. I just need to up my exercise.

to me, as long as you are losing, i dont think it should matter how fast or how long its been since surgery or your last fill...

Hi,

I'm new to the blog. I need encouragement. Had band for almost 3 months and doesn't seem to lose like I expected. Please give me some pointers

Losing isn't difficult if you follow your nutritionists' advice and exercise. Staying within the limits of what you should eat and making sure you exercise. Don't forget to get your fills too. Once you get good restriction, you will be able to feel it and it will help you keep within your portion size. Don't think you can eat like you used to. No more fried, fatty foods. Your new life needs you to stick to the guidelines laid out for you. Proteins, veggies, starches, and fruits. Water and crystal lite should be your new drinks. You can still have coffee or tea but beware of sugar. Make sure you use artficial sweeteners if you sweeten anything.

Remember, everyone loses at different rates. If you are following the guidelines and exercising, you'll see the weight come off. Also the biggest advice I can give you is, Don't expect the weight to come off overnight. You didn't put on the weight overnight and you won't take it off overnight either. It's difficult to be patient right now. Celebrate every little victory. Set mini goals and Celebrate your victories. If you happen to fall off the "bandwagon", (and you will) get right back on. Realize you made a mistake, don't beat yourself up over it too much, and make better choices. Everynight when you go to sleep, it's like hitting the reset button for the next day. So you can start over the next day. :)

Just do your best to make good choices every time you eat.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
