KJoy1984 2 Posted August 1, 2012 I’m baaaack! It’s been a wicked super long time since I’ve been on here. I feel like it’s time to reestablish myself on this site. I’m hoping that by becoming more proactive in EVERY aspect of this “banding process” that I’ll have success! Here’s a little mini-bio on me: I’m 27 years old. I will be 28 sooner than I’d like! *haha* I was banded (I hate that terminology, it sounds like torture) on August 14th, 2009. It will be three years in a couple weeks! I wish I could say I’ve been successful, but I haven’t been. I was 309 at the time of my surgery and I am now 275. So that means I’m down 34 pounds. Just recently I have moved to a new area, got a new Dr. and a new team to work with… And I feel very motivated and positive again. Throughout the past three years I have learned a LOT. I blame myself for my failure with the band. Up until recently I haven’t used it to its full advantage. I had been eating too much, drinking while I ate and had not done ANY working out. The most important thing that I have learned is that the band is a tool. It’s not magic. I still have to eat right, and exercise. I think that a lot of people, including myself, see all of the success stories and think “OMG I can totally do this! It’s so easy!” It’s not easy. It’s a struggle and it’s a lot of hard work! BUT I am happy to say that I finally feel ready to put in the hard work and I am BEYOND ready to see the results. I look forward to sharing, learning, teaching and growing through this process and hope this site helps! 2 Ivowtodoit and Alex Brecher reacted to this
bornready 42 Posted August 1, 2012 Good for you! Here's to success! I am down 46 pounds and I recently quit losing and it had nothing to do with a plateau, it had to do with what I was putting in my mouth! I am back on track and hopefully making better choices! Webb Designer 5 Posted August 1, 2012 I know how you feel. I posted I'm back about a week ago. I have been eating the what I am suppose to. It is hard for about a week now. I was so pumped because I was losing weight and today all of the sudden I feel a little down. We have about the same weight to lose. I have celiac and PCOS. Dietery restriction make it harder. I wish all the luck.
KJoy1984 2 Posted August 1, 2012 I think that having people to talk to that are going through the same things that you are is a HUGE help! It's totally normal to feel down from time to time. The important thing is to always pick yourself back up. Don't get discouraged. Good luck to you too!
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted August 1, 2012 Kjoy & Webb designer - Don't give up!! This lifelong journey we are on will have ups & downs, if we stick together we can make it! I am currently on an up. Had a doctors appointment today, lost 4.6 lbs in 2 weeks. Feeling really good about myself right now. However 3 weeks ago I was miserable. I wasn't loosing weight & I was frustrated as hell. I didn't give up, I spent more time on this site looking for support, i took the recommendations given by my co-banders and kept trying. Finally I got results. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is you are on your way. You are here, looking for support and you didn't quit. I know you will see results. This is for life! We will make it!!!! This I know. You are doing well, keep it up! **hugs** 2 Webb Designer and KJoy1984 reacted to this
