So... today I went and saw my surgeon after having basically no Fluid in my band for 5 weeks. I have put on 5 kg or 11 pounds in 5 weeks =( I have no idea how this happend, I have still been training 5 times per week and being super concious with food. I feel destroyed.

I agree with these folks but honestly there must be something wrong the docs are missing. Maybe u should change your team. Sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes. I wish you all the best and hope u get back to a happy u. *HUGS*

I would recommend counting calories for a week to see what you're really eating. When I estimate, I am really off.

I would strongly suggest using something like myfitnesspal.com (or the phone application) and logging what you are eating each day. You may be taking in more calories than you realize. Also, have you ever had your thyroid checked?

Please have them check your hormone levels especially your thyroid. Hypothyroid disease is very common in women and often goes unchecked. It is nearly impossible to lose weight with this disease if it goes untreated. They have to do a specific test for your thyroid levels (TSH) so ask your doc about this. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
