I just want to be filled

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I need to vent! I just got off the phone with my docs office and was told that I would need to reschedule my fill (yet again) because my doc has meetings tomorrow. Unfortunatly they wont be able to schedule me again for a couple weeks and I don't think I can wait. I have been so hungry since my second day post op. There is nothing that I can't eat and I can eat the same amount that I did before surgery. I'm going through the whole what did i do to myself struggle. I was a self pay too so that is making me feel worse. Please tell me that i'm not alone in my starvation and that a fill really helps! Thanks for reading this! Nora

Geez, that really sucks. I was really starving and ate like a horse too before my first fill. I just tried to "diet" and be good. I really would have been pissed though had they rescheduled.

If it makes you feel any better, I am eating big too right now and I need a fill, but I am just too damn busy to go right now. Plus, the money thing (self pay too). So right now I am just concentrating on maintaining like I have been. Plus, I have to admit that I am somewhat enjoying being able to eat again and not doing the small bite, chew chew chew, swallow and pray method.

Thanks for the tough love Jack. Its true that I would never have lost anything had I not had the band. The two reasons that I got banded however did not have a lot to do with losing numbers. I got my band to hopefully cure my type II diabetes (i;m only 25 and my sugars are out of control) and to kill the feeling that I am constantly starving. I thought the hunger would go away and since it hasn't I've been disappointed. But hopefully all will be better after a fill.

Happy St Pats! Nora

Heyas Nora - Jack the wise old sage has given you some excellent words. Now, if I might, I'll add this...

During the first six weeks of post-op, your body is recovering from extreme shock. There is a lot of swelling and adjusting going on in that tummy of yours. It is important to allow this time for all of the swelling to go down for many reasons. The primary ones being that you heal properly and not put stress on your stitches. Almost everyone feels this way at this point in the journey but rest assured that you'll be just fine even if you gain a pound or two before your first fill - that is very normal. In fact, everyone is told that -any- weightloss at this point is merely a bonus. If you're hungry, go ahead and eat more, but just make healthy choices. Don't drink when you eat - you might be washing the food right through your band, leaving you empty and hungry again. Eat your Proteins first, don't fill up on carbs - they burn off too quickly and will cause you to be hungry quicker. And get a minimum of 60 grams of Protein per day - animal Proteins like fish, chicken, tuna, milk, cottage cheese, cheese.< /p>

I know all too well, that feeling of anxiousness. You waited to get the surgery date, you waited to heal and get back to feeling semi-normal again, and now you're ready to see the results! You didn't get where you are in one month.. allow yourself time to reverse all that your body's been through.

Hang in there. Everything happens for a reason. Perhaps your tummy needs the time for healing before any stress is put on it. *hugs*

Saw my PCP & officially started my 6 month supervised diet 07/26/24. She just told me to eat less carbs & sugar, use the air fryer and not fry my foods in grease, and to try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week & if I can't do that (and I cannot), to walk 10 minutes daily. Told me to walk fast enough that my heart rate is raised.  She didn't give me a number as far as calories though. A year or so ago I was doing low carb/sugar free and keeping my calories at 1800 or below. She said I should up my cals to 2000 at that time, so that's what I'm shooting for now.
Hubby walked with me today. He's in pretty bad shape so I was surprised he wanted to. We walked down the gravel road at a pretty good pace (for us LOL). 10 minutes walking and my heart rate was 115bps according to my Fitbit and 125bps according to his pulsometer. Either way, it was elevated and I was breathing hard. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's a start. We'll do it again tomorrow. 😁
I should be hearing from the surgeon soon. She said if I didn't, to call him next week. Since I HAVE to do the 6 month diet & that's going to put me into January by the time it's done, I'm hoping the surgeon will let me do all my testing in January. I don't want to do it all now and have my deductible get met, only to have to pay the deductible again in January or February for my surgery. Praying that things go the way I hope. 🙏

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.
