So Glad I Don't Have To Do Liquids For 2 Weeks

Recommended Posts

I move on to mushies tomorrow and I am STARVING! And emotional! I sincerely applaud those who can do 2 weeks (plus who had to do 2 weeks before surgery, because I just had low carb). I think part of it is that I healed relatively quickly, so I've felt hunger for a few days now. (I know I'm not completely healed, but I hope that makes sense!)

I'm also glad to have this outlet. My family is enjoying Subway in the kitchen so I left because, despite a Protein Shake and 2 Popsicles, all I can think about is food.< /p>

I can totally relate. I was only on liquids for a week and thank goodness because it was all I could take. :)

Sometimes the food is more a mental than physical game, and it can really stuck. Keep your head in the right place and remember why you are doing this.

It's been almost 3 yrs since my surgery. I still remember that starving feeling of liquids only all too well. I must've misread my post-op instructions, however. I thought I was sposed to be on Clear Liquids + Protein shakes for 4 weeks. I was STARVING. Literally. I added Tomato Soup at about day #10. Thought I was cheating until a few months ago when I glanced at my post-op instructions again. I was to be on FULL liquid for 4 weeks! I could've had yogurt, pudding, and any cream Soups I wanted. I could've kicked myself in the butt for starving needlessly. And everytime I would go to Albertsons to stock up on my Tomato Soup cans, I would smell the deli fried chicken and almost die. Promised myself that would be my first "real" food. It wasn't.

I'm glad that you can eat more foods now. The hardest part is over (besides bandster hell of finding your sweet spot, of course!) and you can relax a little. Good going - keep up the good work!

Marci
