Hi. I'm a BMI 55.2. My consultation with Dr. Montgomery of Everett, WA is 8/9/07. I am really ready to lose weight, but at the same time, have lots of questions. This site is helping me make a list!

Thanks,

Darragha

Good luck to you with your consultation. We are neighbors as I also live in Everett, near Lake Stevens. My surgery is this Friday but I've been seeing a Dr. in Fed Way because I had difficulty finding one who would take Medicare. My surgery will be at Virginia Mason in Seattle.

I see from one of your earlier posts that you are in Bellingham & not Everett. Sorry! My mistake. Anyway, we're still sort of neighbors!! I wish I could've found a doctor in Everett who would take Medicare! Oh, well! I have to go to Federal Way for clinic appointments and having my surgery in Seattle on Friday.

I have RESTRICTION!!!! I just got a significant fill, and i think i might have finally found "the spot". Im reexcited about this.

I dropped down last month only to gain every bit of the loss back. I know i needed a fill but couldnt fly back down to houston any sooner. i finally got here and my surgeon ROCKS.

Ive got 6.5cc's in the new small AP band (ten cc). and im feeling it.

Something he said too really made me hopeful. the subject came up of what my goal weight was, and i told him, and he said...with a straight face and clear voice....that "oh yeah we are going to go lower than that, we are going to take 130 lbs off".

something about that...i cant explain it.

id sort of mentally put off that that was possible. its back on.

i think...this is actually going to be possible.

I believe it is going to happen. I have this much gumption back in the till to give it.

woo.

I really appreciate this thread. I'm just getting started, but I have a LOT of weight to loose!! There have been times when I wonder if the Band is the best way to go, however I don't like the risks of the Bypass. There are a lot of success stories here about loosing large amounts of weight, so I do feel better about my choice.

We have a bigger challenge than most - excuse the word-play! I want to try and remember the mini-successes along the way. I was on Atkins and lost 88 pounds. I never felt like I had approached "normal" weight however when I look back at photos, there were times when I looked good - even thought I wasn't all the way to "thin". The problem is that I never felt that I looked good while dieting. I kept looking at the final goal and missed the successes along the way!

I want to set-up some rewards this time, and Celebrate the successes. The first one is that as soon as I can walk without my crutches, I'm going to buy myself a nice treadmill. I hate going to the Gym, and I hate walking in the winter, so it will be a reward but it will also be good for me.

LOL ... this IS what I look like when I walk!! :crutch:

you are doing a good job so far as i can see... i am new at this and probally not typing in the right area but read your posting and could relate having kids and then look up one day and realizing i had gained bunches of weight.. walking slow is great and picking up the pace day by day and yes to be an example to your kids... much success i wish for you... i was banded just 4 days ago... good luck... vamaillady/brenda:clap2:=DanielleDeeAnne;514576]Hi I'm Danie I started at 284 pounds I'm 5'2 with a small frame and my BMI was over 50. I had the band done April 10th and as of june 4th ( my second fill) i had lost 40 pounds (244) and went from a size 28 to a size 22 with room. I have to admit I have started exercising because I want this weight off more than anything...I was never over weight I was a cheerleader and I was in pagents all my life ..I had 5 kids and BAMMMMMMMMM ...I turned into the side of a barn and the funny thing is I didnt really realize it ..How the heck does that happen??? lol NEway what i do to exercise since i have all these kids is I go to the middle school track about 6 30 pm and let the kids play on the play ground or race me around the track and i just slowly walk I figure slow is better than not at all. Plus doing it this way helps keep my children from getting in the same situation as we all benifit from it.

:welcomeB: Lorien and vamaillady!

Lizrbit: I also have the small AP, I haven't had a fill yet, but don't want to just get a measy little 2 cc's in my darned band for my first fill. Was it your surgeon's choice for the 6.5, was it a request of yours, was it based on how much you were filled before you lost your first band, or was it his usual practice to fill that much on the first fill? I know, loads of questions, but I want to go in prepared for my first fill.

And CONGRATS!!!! Great NSV and goodonya on your renewed confidence in your ability to work this band.

thank you friends!!!! :::curtsies::::

it was a glorious day, thats for sure!

faith! He had put in five ccs at surgery based on what i had in the band prior to the rebanding. I knew there was a fill in there but i didnt know how much of one. I had gone too long before coming back i know. I dropped down to 275, but had gained back up to 283. I wont let that kind of time go by without a proper fill again.

I go back in four weeks. this time im all over it.

i can eat about 2-4 oz of food at a time so im focusing on protien. Breakfast is touch and go so i do protien drinks then. I know i know, drinking calories...and ill remedy that in a few days.

OH...and ladies listen...

ACTIVA YOGURT...in the little 4oz containers..is the BEST stuff on the planet. Ive completely replaced my nighttime sweet tooth raid of the fridge with ONE of those and its not even a struggle.

i also got a chance to try muscle milk instead of high protien slim fast and whoever recommended it was right, its MUCH MUCH better, and a lot more Protein with a less caloric intake.

we got home late last night. we were on planes all day. I picked up the book 'the secret' and while some of it triggers my foofoo alarm, some of it rings very true. Im diggin it.

I am back around my own stuff and i just FEEL smaller today. I feel like theres less of me. :D

Im TOTALLY diggin that.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
