2muchfun 8,927 Posted July 30, 2012 I believe that many times our weight gain is not necessarily fat gained. My daughter and grankdkids came for a visit for 6 days. Grandkids are teenagers and we had chips, ice cream, breads and all kinds of bad stuff around that house and I ate my share. But, we did ride bikes most every day so I did get in my exercise. Long story short, I gained 7 lbs in 6 days. BUT, after they left I went back to my usual lapband friendly diet and lost 9 lbs in one week. Now it's impossible to lose 9 lbs of fat in one week but it's easy to gain or lose 7 lbs of Fluid in one week. So, the net loss was 2 lbs over the near two weeks they visited. So, don't dispair. Most of what you've gained is probably Water weight and not fat. tmf 2 fericito and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
fericito 138 Posted July 30, 2012 Does not sound fun but I hope it gets better for you and you're able to be back on track soon. Hang in there.
croshea 1 Posted August 8, 2012 I normally just read the comments, but this time time I feel this one. I in sync with you. I went on a 3 week vacation right after I had my Fluid decreased. Now I can't seem to get back on track. My weight gain has taken my energy. How can I get started again. I did get a refill and throw up whenever I eat something negative. Am I the only one who has experienced this? If not, what did you do to get your rhythm back?
jrae 38 Posted August 9, 2012 Start small. Its easy to feel overwhelmed! Do you use my fitness pal? That got me going! Just try logging your food for 1 day. Someone said focus on 1 meal at a time and if you slip up, get over it and move on. That is my problem- if I make 1 slip up then it's all over! I'm getting better at it tho. So take small steps. Good luck and best wishes!
honk 780 Posted August 9, 2012 Are you measuring your food. At the very least weigh out 3 oz of Protein. Eat low fat/cal veggies until full. You will over serve yourself if you don't measure. I am at restriction and still measure whenever I am at home; as well as portioning my lunch that I bring. 1 fericito reacted to this
croshea 1 Posted August 9, 2012 Thank you Jrea and Honk for your encouragement. I do not measure and will start. I normally eye ball it. Evidently it is not working. I also need to see the nutritionist because I have a tendency to not eat enough food. I have never used my fitness pal. Sounds like I need to. lol I need to reassess and start fresh. I love that o e meal at a time. 1 jrae reacted to this
