me neither.

I think Wheetsin lied. (LOL)

Have you had any more problems?

Just wondering, think it has to do with what we eat the day before - then the nighttime fasting - then the sweet (delish) morning coffee.

Lastnight I had a salad for supper, then a low carb yogurt for dessert.

This morning, after my coffee rush, I had NO problems. No drop in B/S.

hmmmm, its got me thinkin'!

This is interesting. I think I will monitor this more closely and kind of do my own little experiment. Guess we'll see what I find.

Many blood sugar monitors are not expensive. When I was diagnosed as diabetic I got one free at Walgreens. I now have two or three of them. The last one my daughter got off ebay, band new with lancets (for sticking your finger and strips to put the blood on for about $30. I have seen them at Walmart for about $20. I think the last one I bought was about $37 at Walmart.

Wow Sharon... I didn't realize they had become so affordable! I may just have to check into getting one! Thanks for the infromation!

Paula... I didn't have the problem all weekend... but then again... I held off until later in the morning for Breakfast most of the time as we were up at the cabin. It's funny... we don't have running Water or sewer at our cabin... BUT... there is electricity and a very nice coffee maker...lol.

You are welcome Darcy. Check ebay for sure....I remember seeing some on there that were brand new for under $20. Of course if you were a brittle diabetic I would suggest one of the very best ones, but my Walgreens brand freebie worked great for about 4 years! I still have it and use it from time to time but I have the newer one that gives results in 5 seconds.

Well... I would actually trade the coffee maker for a potty and a shower... but since that isn't in the budget I guess a coffee maker will do!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
