Some of my favorites:

100 calorie packs of turkey Jerky, made by Jack Links (I think!)

Greek yogurt with some Kashi Go Lean Crunch Cereal mixed in

Turkey pepperoni

cheese sticks (I prefer Sargento reduced fat cheddar instead of the usual mozzarella sticks) or laughing cow cheese

apple or banana with Peanut Butter

hard boiled eggs

Nature Valley Protein bars

I take a slice of corned beef from the Deli, a slice of Lorraine Swiss cheese, 1/4 cup of coleslaw and one "line" of 1000 Island dressing and roll it up. Voila, a rueben without the bread! My NUT saw this on my food journal and it made her hungry, so she went home and made the same thing! NUT approved, yay!

Also...Turkey Breast from the deli with cheese of your choice, rolled up. Maybe put a "line" of Lt. mayo in it.

Strawberrys are great cut up with sweetener on it, or do what I do...Cut them up and mix with a little strawberry banana Yoplait yogurt.

Dip carrots, cucumbers or whole wheat pita chips into hummus.

I buy Imitation Seafood/Lobster and mix it with a little mayo, celery salt, garlic powder and onion powder. It's awesome and you can make several portions out of it.

Crap, now I'm hungry... LOL

I've found a milky Cappuccino has been a useful snack in the am. Tides me over to lunch.

Berries I found to be a great snack, easy to chew, great Vitamins and very tasty

I love frozen blueberries- so refreshing when its hot outside. Freeze fresh ones on a cookie sheet & then pop them into a ziplock or just buy them already frozen. For Protein I'll mix a laughing cow lite mozzarella & Tomato wedge with a 1/4 cup lf cottage cheese- it reminds me of the pimento cheese spread I loved as a kid. Eat it with special k pop crackers- 15 for 55 calories. Also banana carb master yogurt instead of milk with kashi almond flax- 100 calories for 1/2 cup & 60 ( I think!) for yogurt- I'll eat that & feel super satisfied. My favorite night time treat if I have leftover calories is a banana "shake". Freeze ripe peeled bananas. I use my stick blender- 1 cup almond milk (original or unsweetened), 1 pack Splenda, & 1 cut up frozen banana. Blend until thick & creamy. Yummy! Only 135 or 160 depending on almond milk. Pretty good considering a small shake @ McDonald's is 580!!! Hope this helps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
