Harlow1980 7 Posted July 29, 2012 Howdy Everyone! Just joined the group today, doing all my pre-surgery stuff to make sure I know what I am doing. This is one on the list! So excited, happy and READY. I've had surgery before so I am not nervous about that, but VERY focused on post-surgery life. I am diabetic with hypertension, high cholesterol with an A1c of 8.8. Not good, hence the surgery. My goal is to be off all meds and that my diabetes goes dormant. Good luck to all!

DeAna N 229 Posted July 30, 2012 I'm right there with my diabetes is control well but I take quite a lot of mess to accomplish this I really nervous that the 1st few days when I can't get much in due to swelling I'm going to bottom out so I'm will be working closely with my PCP, nutritionist, and surgery I think if I get to low and can have full sugar popsicles so I do have a plan but still nervous once i get low my mind is scrambled my memory is terrible Good luck
Harlow1980 7 Posted August 6, 2012 It is day 4 post-surgery and I think I am doing great. Day 2/3 were hard with pain, mostly intestinal gas/bloating/discomfort. Today I am sitting in a bar chair typing this so things are good! No pain meds! Now I just need to buy a scale so I can track how much I lose. Also god bless the Vietnamese and their Pho Soup. The broth kicks ass, unlike all the other chicken/beef box/can stuff. GROSS.
