What Kind Of Job Do You Have?

Recommended Posts

I'm a cna. A certified nursing assistant so I do a lot of heavy lifting. I had the band with hernia repair so I was out for 6 weeks. Since I was feeling better after the first week it was more like a extended vacation. Lol

I am in public relations - I went back 4 days later and was fine. It is mostly a desk job.

I'm an HR Manager at a major Home Improvement Retailer. My job is mainly at a desk but I do go on the floor and do some heavy lifting sometimes.

I had surgery Friday morning and was back at work Monday morning. That week I was lifting Air conditioners and moving lumber.

I think I was very lucky with my recovery. I recovered quickly and I don't sit still very well, I constantly need to be moving and doing something. I think it depends on your recovery and how well you tolerate pain.

I'm a geologist and work in a microanalysis lab. My job is physical and I spend a lot of time on my feet in the lab. I cut rocks with a diamond blade saw and make thin sections (microscope slides) from the rock. I look at the slide with a variety of microscopes to determine how the rock formed. I took just a little shy of 2 weeks off from work. I felt that I could have gone back sooner!

Thank guys everyone has such different jobs. Well I'm getting a hernia repaired and also my stomach gets soaked when I bathe the dogs, I'm also doing a lot of twisting, bending, lifting and my doctor said I should heal and they don't want me to get an infection.

I'm a Director of a childcare center/preschool with 18 staff and 90 children 4 weeks to 5 years. I'm pretty interactive with the children and staff. But not too physically demanding besides lifting kiddos. I took one week off and worked three half days. I took it slow the first month and did not concern myself with weight loss but more healing and following the eating plan.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
