Had my first Major stuck today, was not fun. First time I have had to throw up. I was busy with my three grandchildren was getting there Breakfast (they sleep late on the weekend) and cleaning up so that we could go to the movie (Batman)

I do not have them too often so I was eating a piece of bacon (bad girl) on the run, oh my gosh it was not pretty. I just want to warn everyone that has not had an episode to not eat on the run, and to leave bacon alone. We had to leave late for the movie; I am now thinking about dinner and am afraid to eat.

I am going on vacation next Friday and was going to have another fill on Monday I called the office and left a message to cancel it, hope that was a wise decision and I will not gain weight when I am gone.

God Bless

Lassie

Lassie... thats rough you had a stuck episode. My advice is not to eat any meat while on the run... i know that i have to concentrate while chewing meat as its so fibrous. i dont have any issues with bacon at all.. in fact im having it every morning with an egg and thoroughly enjoy it. I wouldnt assume that bacon is off your list...if you eat it while concentrating im sure it will be o.k. In fact, i hope it will be o.k.. i love bacon and enjoy my breakfasts more than most meals these days. Ive had a few episodes of being stuck in three months and its wise to go onto some liquids for about 24 hours afterwoods. Last saturday i had the worst experience... i was out at a function helping in the kitchen, we were very busy and i was distracted. i ate a small savoury , didnt chew it properly and was ill for six hours afterwoods... the worst Ive ever been. Its my fault. Im not saying that i cant eat those savories every again but Ive learned now that very small bites, lots of chewing is in order for just everything. When im distracted i cant seem to remember that. How did you get on? did the children like the movie?

i hear you about the amount of fill and going on vacation. Im going on a cruise with my grand daughter in nov... and ive been thinking of the same issues already, whether to lighten the fill or not. judy

Hi Judy

kids loved the movie and i feel so much better. It only lasted about an hour, after I threw up it went away. Cannot even wrap my brain around it lasting 6 hours I hope that never happens.

hope you have a great trip

hi Lassie...i agree... its hard to get your head around a stuck incident lasting that long. Actually, when i came to have some Soup for tea that night.... about 8 hours later, i was still so sore i couldnt have tea. about ten pm i had a glass of white wine with icecubes in it... it went down well and did help to relax things a bit. i expected to be bad all night but i slept well.. was o.k. the next morning and had some soup.

Can you imagine? here i am helping out in the kitchen of a christian day of praise and teaching... and here i am running to the loo every five minutes to try and vomit?? rofl. i know it didnt look good. lol. i had to try and explain that i had tummy problems. lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
