lv2nurse 34 Posted July 28, 2012 Did anyone have to take their acrylic nails off for surgey?
newskinnygal 51 Posted July 28, 2012 When I went to my pre op testing appointment, thy told me all nail polish/ nails would have to be removed to reduce the risk of infection. I took my nail polish off but kept the nail polish on my toes on! I had just gotten a pedicure! Haha
MeredithMcFee 98 Posted July 28, 2012 I have LCN's and I didn't have to take them off, as long as it was clear for them to read the pulseox while under anesthesia. However, I had a pedicure which they took off nail polish from the both big toes so they can also keep an eye on things. Nothing for infection.

PandorasBox92264 61 Posted July 28, 2012 I had the pink/white powder on my nails for a french so they could see through the nail bed. They did not make me remove mine and they got alot of compliments from the nurses all around!
