Has Anyone With Pcos Gotten Pregnant After Lapband?

Recommended Posts

Yes! I am currently 7 weeks preggo with my first! Had lap band surgery in August 2009, Lost 162 lbs but put about 60 of it back on over the past year after I got married. I could kick myself for allowing that to happen! My PCOS actually went away for awhile, and as I started to gain weight it came back. So I know now that my PCOS is totally weight related. Even now though, the PCOS symptoms are far less than they were 100 pounds ago, so at least progress has been made. Can't worry about weight loss now, but after this sweet blessing gets here I will definitely be getting back to band basics!

I got pregnant 2yrs after being banded, we had been trying for 10 yrs with no luck. Not being able to get pregnant caused a problem in our relationship and we broke up. Since I still wanted a baby I decided to try IFV with donor sperm, I got pregnant with the first round and I had my blessing: Mrs. Kennedy & she is the light of my life. So dont give up the fight, theres a light at the end of that tunnel. :D

Has anyone with PCOS gotten pregnant after losing weight? I have PCOS and one of the reasons I'm getting banded is because down the road I'd like to have children and I know PCOS may lead to infertility.

Yes, I got banded 09/2010 for the same reason. I am now 10 weeks pregnant without meds.

I actually got pregnant twice after having the lapband and having PCOS. Unfortunately both ended in MC because of my age and the quality of my egg. I am happy to say after having an egg donor that I am now 7 weeks pregnant. I was pregnant with twins but unfortunately we lost one last week so I am home on rest. But the other baby seems to be doing well. Saying our prayers and hoping for a great Christmas to share the news with the family.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
