I was banded on Monday as well. The first night was really hard, but I feel great now. Still on liquids and will be for another week. I'm wanting other foods, but scared to try. I have lost 20 pounds since I started the battle and I'm gonna win. I want to wear a pair of jeans to my sons first football game.

At three weeks post op - I have lost 18 lbs. That's nearly a pound a day. I am just beginning soft foods. I also log everything on myfitnesspal.com It helps with accountability.

Keep with the liquids you will be happy you did! Every day that goes by you will be healed all the more. Today I put on a pair of jeans I haven't wore in 8 years (yep I saved them!) and I feel so good about how far I've come...I could cry. All these years I fought with my weight and being unhealthy-legs, back, heart burn...its so great to climb out of bed and enjoy going through my clothes!!!

I lost 79 pounds in just over a year with about 15-20 to go. I've been hanging out at this weight since February of this year and have just got a fill to take me down the last 15-20 pounds...so almost there.

It is a journey...for some it's faster than others. Much of that is within our control...sometimes not.

Today is 6 months for me and I love my band. I have lost 58 pounds and can't wait to lose more. Agree with everyone who says find an exercise you like and do it. It really does help to burn the calories and to tone you up. Plus you just feel better about yourself when you exercise(at least I do). If you would have told me 6 months ago I would love Zumba, I would have told you that you were crazy!! You will find lots of things you never thought you wanted to do or try!

And welcome to the club :)

I was banded 12/9/11. Almost 8 months post op and I have lost 57 pounds.

Still another 43 pounds to goal but I know when I start excercising I will get there sooner.

This is the best decision ever !!!!

Congrats, there are so many awesome changes in store for you. I agree with all the previous post, you have to put the effort in and do the work and eat healthy. It's so worth it in the end.

I'm 7 months post op and am down 86lbs.

Exercise is difficult at first but gets easier the more pounds you lose. I don't know where it came from but I have a little sign that says,

"It doesn't matter how slow you go, you're still lapping people sitting on the couch!"

Congrats again and good luck!:)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
