I'd like to see a forum for those of us who have lost our bands to be able to discuss things. I don't think such conversations need to clutter up the other boards, nor do I want to scare prospective bansters on a daily basis, through casual conversation.

However, those of us who have lost our bands need to work extra hard to maintain and perpetuate our weight loss, and I think it would be nice to have a section for us to discuss such matters. I think it would be important to let people know, nicely, that it's NOT a forum for anyone unbanded, but specifically for those who have been banded and are no longer (or, someone who's lost a port, even if they're still banded, or something similar, if there is anything else).

Yes, we could just stop posting here and go to some other "diet" site, but I think that we have too much in common to just abandon this method of support. I also think we still have something to offer to the rest of the people here.

However, a forum like this wouldn't be of any use if people aren't interested in it. So, if you are interested, why don't you post here and indicate that you are. If I'm the only one who wants the forum, then it wouldn't be much fun, or much help.

Jonathan

Jonathan,

How are you doing post band removal? I agree.... You "bandless" guys should have somewhere to share with eachother and also stay here where we all need you! You are still part of us .....

I hope you are doing well.

Jonathan I have thought the same thing for quite sometime now. I think it is an excellent idea. I for one feel sorta funny answering issues related to the band since I no longer have one. So this would be a great way for us to still come and post but address topics directly related to us NON bandsters.

I will send an email to Alex the owner of LBT.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
