YngGram 73 Posted July 26, 2012 It's sad, but at 3 years out I still don't know/understand how to measure my food. It was covered pre surgery, I didn't get it then. I think I "blocked" the info because I didn't want to be a slave to the band. I thought I would be able to make the changes without it running my whole life. Now that I am not loosing, and will be getting a small fill next week I have to own that I will need to do more to get (loose) more. I have a scale, it's easy to put on a chicken breast, but no idea how to deal with frozen veggies. Is is 3 oz. of meat and 1 oz of veggie for the 1/2 cup I should be eating? Some say volume, again I am lost. They showed me a deck of cards, that's easy enough for the meat but..... HELP! 1 bandedcarie78 reacted to this

If veggies are prepared without added stuff, you should be fine to eyeball as they won't contain many calories. If they are prepped with butter, etc I would measure. Another way of measuring food is to use an actual salad plate and fill 1/2 with Protein, 1/4 with veggies, and the last 1/4 with carb, if interested. Then you eat Protein, veggies, carb in that order. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

crbeasley 4 Posted July 26, 2012 I love that plate. My dr told me 1/2 cup total of food. 2-3oz Protein and 1-2oz vege. The funny thing for me is I understood what my dr told me about measuring but I have been ignoring it :-| I MUST get back to it.
