I always had problems with multi-Vitamins, but when I got the band it was even worse. Because I don't eat as much, I always got the children's gummy vitamins so it didnt upset my stomach so much, but I didn't feel like i was getting what I needed.

But I recently found the One a Day VitaCraves Multi-Vitamin. I LOVE them. I take the one with immunity support as I work in healthcare setting so high immunity is always a plus!

The bottle says to take 2 a day, so I take one in the morning and one before bed. I havent felt nauseous once from them, which is wonderful!

Just thought I'd share on here for those who may not have seen them before :)

I love Vita-crave gummies, my husband picked them up for me at the store because I was having a hard time with so many reg Vitamins. I also take:

chewable acidophiles-helps keeping your bowels going helps with the band

chewable Vitamin c

Gummy Omega 3- Vitafusion

Gummy Vitamin D/calcium - Caltrate

I do not dread my Vitamins now, and it helps with the bathroom issues!

My biggest struggle was Multi Vitamins because there's so much in them and it was too much on my stomach. I dreaded taking them. I take tons of vitamins and now can handle a multi as well! I also take acidophilus, which I always tell people, especially females because it helps with ph balance as well...it is a pill form but it's a powder type pill that isn't hard for me to take...I also take Vitamin D (i seem to have abnormally low vit D levels...found that out after two broken bones :-/ very teeny tiny pill) and chewable vit C. It seems as though when everyone is getting sick, I stay pretty healthy! Yay me! :)

The only problem I've heard with gummy vitamins is that they can be lacking in nutritional bulk like regular Vitamins do. I use Centrum chewables and a Gummy B Complex by Viatfusion. Just check with your surgeon about the quantity you should take, as you may require more.

Hmm, I never heard that...I've compared side to side nutrition labels and they have been almost identical with some regular pill Multi Vitamins, but I'll be sure to check with my doc just in case!

I have been taking the sunkist chewable Vitamin c, but it is so tangy that I dread taking them. Has anyone found a chewable Vitamin C in any other flavor besides orange?

VitaCraves has Gummy Vit C, which may be less tangy than a chewable tablet. Also, Emergen-C is a great powder with multiple flavors....mix with 1/2 cup - 1 cup of Water.

I had actually started out with O-Purity Multivitamin for band, but the flavor was really too sweet. I now use the Centrum chewable, and even though the flavor is not good, I prefer it over the sweetness of opurity.< /p>

I would also only compare to another chewable, preferably a bariatric mix for band, to see how it lines up. My surgeon recommended Centrum chewables and said not to take a pill form Vitamin.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
