esteban6377 1 Posted July 24, 2012 Ok well I have my surgeon who performed my lapband surgery on the 19th of this month I have a follow up to remove my staples on the 25 th of this month here's the question is she also my pcp or do I have to pick one from my insurance provider for the fills and aftercare if so what type of aftercare why can't my surgeon do aftercare or is that not her job ? Who will do fills ? I'm lost sorry if I'm sounding dumb or not making sense ! But what does pcp do if he would know anything about after are for lapband I think the surgeon would have the best knowledge??? Help Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
cfurrey 53 Posted July 24, 2012 Any care pertaining to the band is done by my surgeon my primary can feel around and xray but in the end cant help me at all unless emergency! vlp1968 83 Posted July 24, 2012 Your surgeon or a nurse practioner will do fills. About once a month until restriction then it will depend on how you are feeling (hunger between meals, how much you can eat at once et..). You should see your pcp regularly if you are on meds for diebeties, high blood pressure , cholesteral. He/she will be the one to make adjustments for things like that.
