Hello, I'm currently @ 7.7 in a 10 cc band. I've had restriction for a while now, I've been banded for 16 months. Now w/ the heat, stress @ work, and just getting over bronchitis.....I'm TIGHT. Ive been mildly uncomfortable for about a week and half. I'm not getting any better on my own and things are only getting worse at work. I wld say @ a sitting I can eat .5 to 1 ounce of meat and I can't eat any more. I know if I continue I'll be sick and that is my last resort. The scale is going down, but this is so unhealthy. Any suggestions as to how much much I shld have taken out....I was thinking .5 but I still want to leave the dr. Office in the green zone. My weight loss as of this am was 76.2. TIA Kelli

I just went thru something similiar...long story short I ended up with a fill only.2cc's after 1 cc was too much...my band is so sensitive to the smallest fill every since I hit the green zone

I went in at the beginning of the summer with same issues. They removed .5 and it made a big difference. I have stopped losing, but have not really gained anything either. Just keep playing with the same two or so lbs. I can also eat a lot more. I can eat more than the the one cup. I am thinking of going in for my check up and get a little bit put in again.

My last fill was .2 in March & I've been fine......but Apparently my band is VERY receptive to stress & since I can't eat my feelings any more and have to feel them......I was thinking my quality of life might improve with a tinsy unfill.

Did yours help u? Where you were use to being "tighter", then had an unfill were u still in the green zone? This is my first unfill, I'm nervous...thanks for responding!

I was where you are at just a month ago. I had 7.55 in my 10 band, about 3 weeks after the fill I got really tight. Could only eat about 1 ounce or less too of Protein. I had .2 of the .25 fill removed and felt much better. So now I am back to feeling hungry again, but life is too short to not eat and be uncomfortable! I will give another fill a try next month, but just a little bit. Good luck, I'd say have some removed!

Yes, seems like you need a slight unfill. Talk with your surgeon about how your doing and decide together how much to remove. Feel better soon!

So I went in talked to the PA we decided that, I did need an un-fill. So that was 9 days ago, I weighed this morning and I am up 8 lbs. :( so, granted I was eating pretty restricted, and now I'm able to eat more balanced and more of a healthy "bandster" diet. But 8 lbs........geeeez I'm already, ready for a fill. She took out 1.6 so that leaves me w/ 6.1. I'm battling hunger...I have been eating more, but not 8 lbs! I hope I level off soon. So much nicer when the scale is going down and not ^.

I have been there. In early April I had 8.0 and got a tiny fill up to 8.2 when I shouldn't have. I was already in green and thought stupidly that adding that .2 cc would keep me there. Nope. Got fill on Thursday and was fine on liquids for 2 days but Saturday and Sunday I couldn't even swallow Water or spit and went to the emergency clinic suggested by my doctor and they took out 1 cc. That felt like I was back to pre-band!! Gained 4 pounds. Fast forward to July. I was now up to about 8.0 and still not feeling the level of restriction I had before. I'm constantly fighting to lose. I've lost 2 of the 4 I gained back but having a hard time losing any more. It's like my body is holding on to everything. Even with more exercising its not coming off.

Last month they wouldn't give me a fill, as I had lost a tiny bit from June (not much though!!). I go this Friday and hope to get .1 or .2.

Ready for this not losing streak to end!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
