My surgeons office submitted all the paperwork Thursday afternoon for approval. How long should I wait before I start calling the insurance company?

I would call them tomorrow. My network said they submitted the paperwork, I waited three weeks and never heard anything so called the insurance company and they had never received the paperwork. It ended up getting submitted by network on Thursday, June 28th and approved on July 3rd. I called every single day to the insurance co to see where it was because my Surgery was scheduled for July 5. It was very stressful!

nothing wrong with calling today at least your would know for sure that it was sent and received They sent mine on tues(17th) and I was approved on wed(18th) I still haven't received anything from my insurance My surgeons office told me while I was there so actually I could still be waiting to hear from my insurance if I wouldn't have had an appt with my Surgeon on Thurs(19th)

My surgery is on Aug 6 and my pre-register is on Aug 3. I have no approval from Anthem BCBS. I contacted Anthem yesterday on their Anthem.com and left a message. I need to know prior to Aug 3 or surgery will be cancelled by me. I'm fearful of getting stuck with the bill. I might call on Jul 30 Anthem. My surgeon's office hadn't receive anything.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Fepblue is pretty fast 5 days norm, but yes- call in and make sure all is there and make sure the rep checks everything as the paperwork goes to a diff dept. and some don't like to persue it or check all the notes, They said I would know in writing, but my rep told me on the phone n then I called surgeons office to see if they had the approval which is faxed to them. Good luck!

I called everyday for four days. On the day I decided not to call ( on Friday), my surgeons office called to say I was approved. Funny, huh? It only took one week! Now waiting on surgery date! I'm so excited and nervous all rolled into one!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
