I sent my husband to work directly after surgery. I also went for a 1k walk same day with my kids ( I just wanted to make sure the gas was moving). You may be better than you think.

I agree that the day after would be better as well. I want to respond to radarluv, though, as to why people stay overnight. I had to stay overnight because of my sleep apnea - they wanted to make sure the anesthetic didn't depress my breathing too much.

Ok, now I see. Thanks, and that makes sense. It was such an easy surgery, and I have had a lot! I wasn't sure why the heck one would want or need to stay, but yes, that seems logical. I don't have sleep apnea, so I was not aware.

I needed my husband when I got home. I went home day of and really needed the help and moral support. He was with me at the hospital too and he was able to help me when they made me walk around. However, the nurses could probably help you do that.

The day after is good. He can help you and motivate your walking to get rid of any gas pains. Best wishes
