neece1 3 Posted July 21, 2012 This seems like a stupid complaint but what is going on is that I just don't want food. I have 6cc in the band and feel no restriction however I just don't think about food. I think about exercise all the time and spend most of my free time at the Y. Every day I have about 900 calories left on my fitness pal. I am concerned that this is pathological. I am losing wait at about 2-3 lbs a week which I understand is normal. Just looking for anyone who feels or felt this way. 1 scorrea reacted to this
jeani81 93 Posted July 21, 2012 I feel like you also. I hardly ever make it to 900 calories in a day, I exercise and am losing about 10 lbs a month. I do think about food but I have restriction and have from the beginning. I guess I don't worry so much about how much I'm eating but more about how healthy I'm eating

DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 21, 2012 I could be wrong, but if you're not hungry or thinking about food, then it sounds like you do have restriction. Restriction with the band doesn't literally restrict what you eat or stop you from eating, nor is it supposed to make you feel stuffed full. It makes you satisfied with less food for longer time periods, which sounds like what you are describing. Before I had restriction, I was eating 1100-1200 calories a day. Since my last fill in May, I usually only eat around 900 calories a day, sometimes even less. My surgeon said quite simply- if you're not hungry don't eat. It's ok if you're getting less calories as long as the food you are eating is healthy and you're not hungry. 2 muelle and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
elcee 3,341 Posted July 21, 2012 Sounds to me like things are going well. Not sure what you are looking for. You are not hungry and you are losing weight - what exactly do you think is wrong?
ValleyGirlRN 32 Posted July 21, 2012 I understand your concerns...I also have issues getting enough calories in...I just make sure to get my 70 grams of Protein in, and take my vitamins...then eat 3 meals a day, tho a 'meal' could consist of a cup of yogurt or just a piece of fish, sometimes a protein shake...depending on the day... neece1 3 Posted July 22, 2012 Thanks for all the responses! I think everyone is right. I had not considered that I could have restriction without the pb, stuck episodes, or vomiting. Maybe I just get to miss that part. I just am concerned that not getting enough calories will slow or stop my weight loss. Which is how I got to all the exercising.
