Things have been really rough for me... They had trouble even starting an IV and the for some other health reasons, had to use all IV fluids to put me to sleep. Then they couldn't get the tube down my throat... Tried for an hour. The anesthesiologist wanted to stop but thankfully my surgeon didnt let him. Then because of the type of anesthesia, my doc only had a hour to remove my gallbladder, fix my hiatal hernia and put on the band. At first he wasn't sure he would have enough time to get the band on, but thankfully he did. He couldnt inflate my abdomen like normmal so he had to really move organs around and to get everything done. Right now my stomach area hurts but my incision sites dont which is good. My biggest problem right now is that my throat is killing me! It takes 4-5 swallows to get the tiniest sip of Fluid down. I was supposed to have 64oz of fluid yesterday but only managed maybe 8 oz.

If any of y'all are the praying kind, I would sure appreciate some prayers.. I don't think I've ever been so miserable.

If it makes you feel any better, I had a lot of the same symptoms as you are feeling but don't really know why. All I can say is that it does get better! I was miserable for about a week. I wasn't one of the lucky ones that were up and at em in the first few days! Just rest more than you think is necessary and sleep. I slept as much as I could on and off. That helps you heal and ale your pain meds!!!! Good luck and you will feel better soon. I was definately having second thoughts as to why I did it!

Thanks Megan! I was feeling better today until tonight... Now it feels that my fluids are getting backed up and I'm having a super hard time with drinking anything.

Sip REALLY slow all day. That's the only way I could do it. Tiny sips. My surgeon explained drinking Water as if it were hot tea...that slow!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
