What Does Your Workout Consist Of?

I love going to the gym, in fact I have been working there for over a year also.

I am constantly looking for things to switch it up so I dont get bored. Right now I am doing Jim Stoppani's 12 weeks shortcut to size. It actually takes out the cardio and only has me lifting 4 days a week. Its a far cry from Jamie Easton's 12 weeker where I was working out 6 days a week. I have been still doing some cardio, but not hitting that as hard.

So what does your workout look like?

Currently my work out consists of working out with a personal trainer 3 days a week, I do a mix up of upper and lower body strength weight lifting. I also go to the gym 2 additional days a week and do extra cardio on several different machines. I have a treadmill at home that I was using 6 days a week but backed off as I have become closer to goal. I wanted to build muscles and tone so I dropped back my cardio. I am trying to wean myself from my personal trainer so I have purchased Jillian Micheals new DVD's and will start these next week. I plan to blog about them weekly once I get started. I have a pesonal goal to be at goal by Nov 1, 2012. I have 8 lbs left to lose to be at my ideal body weight. This will also be my 2 year band-versay.

I just had a Tummy Tuck 12 days ago and am having to take a time out from my work out to heal. I thought it would be driving me crazy, but I'm not bad so far. I do miss my intense workouts, but healing is more important right now. The dr said I could go back next week and get on the bike for some mild activity.

I plan on restarting my 12 week training program as soon as I can really start hitting it again!

Yes my doctor told me to be mindful of the bike as well starting slow, but love the stomach and waist. The fact that I can tuck my blouse in witout looking at all my stomach hanging below is great. I hated the pump, and the drains that I had to keep in for three weeks wellthe pump was ok due to keeping away the pain. I am really focused on my work out now as well since I can move, I will be asking you a lot of questions, and you look great....thanks for replying I am going to go for my work out now.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
