Mushy Stage Recipes...

Recommended Posts

I found these recipes while doing a search for mushy foods after lap band surgery... They all sound great and I know I will be trying these too!

Lowfat ricotta with a little spaghetti sauce and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Put in the microwave and heat it up. It's like Lasagna without the noodles.

fat free refried Beans with a little shredded low fat cheddar cheese, add a packet of Taco Bell taco sauce (can be mild or medium I wouldn't do the hot yet!) - tastes just like Taco Bell beans and cheese!

cottage cheese mixed with sugar free jellies, such as strawberry, apricot, etc..

yea, I think its important to eat a variety of food so we don't get bored of eatting the same things over and over again. Believe me I am on a hunt.

Oh, a good friend of mine on here says she mixes tuna with babybel light soft cheese. I will be trying that as well, so far I got several recipes on hand...

Carolinagirl,

Oh I am so glad it taste very good, this is deff. on my to make list. I have these tiny little dipping bowls I had purchased years ago as a chinette set "onieda" and used them when I would serve dipping sauces. They are exactly 4 ounces! So, these will be my new eatting bowls. LOL

I have been making eggbeaters with pinto Beans and cheese melted in. Some taco sauce on top and it tastes like a bean and egg Breakfast burrito without the tortilla of course. Super super yummy. Has been my staple the last few days.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
