I ate a Starbucks Breakfast sandwich which has never been an issue. Well I got a fill shortly after and wasn't able to keep Water down. Went back lost 13lbs in 2.5 days to have some Fluid taken out of my band. Was feeling much better but now when I'm on my left side I slime and I think It's bread from the sandwich any suggestions on how to get rid of this stuck bread or to get it to break down and pass ?

It sounds like you ate the bread a few days ago? I am guessing the bread is no longer there, but I would call my surgeon and ask anyways. No question is a dumb question.

For future reference, I was told not to eat anything from 2-4 hours prior to a fill because they don't want food to be left above the pouch or physically stuck in the pouch if they tighten the band down.

wow... i'd think it would go down.

Try pinapple juice..

Can you drink Water ok. Drink a lot of water?

Seriously.. I was stuck once for a couple of days. Not plugged tight but felt like there was something there. It finally passed.

You might want to give your dr. a call.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
