When I had to bring all my meds to the hospital during pre-admission testing' date=' I was told that I am no longer Allowed to take Ibuprofen. I am wondering if every dr is different and maybe some vets would know for sure?? My dr clearly stated that only Tylenol was safe to take. Any opinions...[/quote']

I was also told only tylenol, as the others have things in them that could possibly cause erosion.

My surgeon said that ibuprofen can be a gastric irritant but for now it is a good anti inflammatory. And by alternating you can take more.

They do sell adult liquid. Hard to find sometimes. I am in fl and get mine from cvs.

Same here. I'm in FL and CVS has liquid form of it. This is what I found most useful for the pain.

ibuprofen definitely can be an irritant on your stomach, however this is with excessive use. If you are alternating between ibuprofen and tyelenol, it should be okay. I just wouldn't overdo the ibuprofen. Especially if there is no food to help absorb it.
