I am 8 days post op and I am having some pain in my chest and port area. Has anyone had this happen in the beginning?

Also, a heating pad across the abs works wonders! I bring mine to work. Also, my surgeon has me alternating liquid tylenol and ibuprofen every 3 hours. It helps a lot too...I find that I start to feel really good, miss a couple doses and then realize that I have done far too much! Important to just keep things limited as much as possible. :)

They do sell adult liquid, but it seems to sell so fast! I have literally found it once and looked 3 or 4 times. Walmart definitely sells it. I hear that Walgreen's and Rite Aid have a generic liquid tylenol, that may be your best bet.

CVS drug store sales a liquid tylenol for adults. 6.99 a bottle. (it is the CVS brand but same ingredients. I checked with my surgeon and the pharmacy. Hope this helps.

When I had to bring all my meds to the hospital during pre-admission testing, I was told that I am no longer Allowed to take Ibuprofen. I am wondering if every dr is different and maybe some vets would know for sure?? My dr clearly stated that only Tylenol was safe to take. Any opinions...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
