Actually getting a bra that fits right (sheesh, I guess big girls can't be barely a b cup)

Stop paying 40-60 dollars for one damn pair of jeans (thanks lane bryant, now how about upping the quality on the fabric now that they are that expensive)

Wearing short sleeve shirts without a long sleeve over them.

Wearing shorts (haven't worn shorts in 10 years, no matter how hot it is, I wear jeans)

Getting off of painkillers so I can get through my day at work.

And being able to dance without fear of being that fat girl that the skinny girls and the "hot" guys make fun of, because I got moves.

I read on here someone mentioned a 'bucket list' for after the weight loss. What a great idea! I think it will be such a great motivational tool!

Mine is hit Cedar Point, go to the beach IN A BATHING SUIT yikes! and finally set a date for my wedding which I refuse to do until I lose weight

I want to take my kids to a Water park. They would so love that.

I want to wear anything but the damn floor length purple tent of a dress that has been my only decent going out outfit for the last three freakin years!

I want to walk to the park with my sister without feeling like the gross fat sister.

Going up or down any stairs without wincing!

Wanna buy a cute pair of boots without looking for the wide calf ones!

Wearing high heels again.

I need my knee pain to be gone, that is my biggest wish.

Get dressed in 5 minutes, not to think about my choice of clothes for half an hour every day, trying to figure out what makes me look not that fat - when in reality I look fat in whatever I put on:/

I want to go to a Water park in a REAL bathing suit. No more t-shirts and shorts. I already have a trip planned for next July so I'm hoping that will help me stay on track. Also knee high boots... I have a hard time with them anyway since I wear a size four, but I'm still gonna try to find some, darnit!!

great posts everyone! Before you know it will be next summer and what a difference a year can make! I can honestly say these last 18 months have gone by so fast for me. Just remember that the band is a tool that you must use, it can't do it alone! Good luck everyone!

Ahh love all these things!!

For me its simple:

1. Sounds cliche, but I want to rock a bikini...nothing skimpy but it would be amazing to wear something that DOESN'T cover my entire torso!

2. Look great in a Form fitting "little black dress" with an amazing new pair of high heels.

3. To be able to one day get rid of my Spanx!

4. Lastly, I want to train for a sports event, not sure which kind but something that would require serious physical training. (My original plan was to join the army, but apparently once you have weight loss surgery, its an automatic disqualification - Boo!)

1. Wear stilettos for hours and not have my knees hurt

2. Zip up and comfortably wear my knee high boots

3. Have everything in Lane Bryant be too big

4. After I'm at goal, see every ex and person who called me fat

5. Wear a skirt above my knee

6. Take swimming lessons in a swim suit with no skirt or wrap and feel comfortable doing so

7. Show off my new body for my 38th birthday on an island 8/27/13)

8. Attend my 20th class reunion (6/2013) in the same size I wore in High School...a size 10.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
