I think it hurts less that a shot. It is different but not painful at all. The first one makes more swelling b/c they pull Fluid out and put it back in but the others are even easier. Still, with that said, the first one is easy also. Dont worry.

Dont expect any difference in hunger or restriction either. It takes most 3- 5 fills to get there. Took me 5. I am now at 6.5 and feel the green zone.

Ok I've lost 36 pounds in 6 weeks & 8 BMI :-)

My band had no fill what so ever and today they put 2 cc in. It did not hurt at all ; Holly had a little hard time trying to find it and she push push and push no luck she went and got the dr and he push a few but found it then holly stuck me. I ask if they was going to num it and they said nope no need.

Told me keep doing what I've been doing and remember to chew chew chew

Good visit

I am hoping to get my first fill tomorrow. I have lost 12 lbs since surgery but am at a stand still. I have not felt any restriction when eating which is not good to lose weight.

You will loose when you have restriction. There is one person who says it all the time on the forum " Lap band with out restriction is just another diet." So count your calories work out at least 30 min even if its just a walk around the block and with a few fills you will be moving and shaking with great speed.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
