Kflower84 56 Posted July 19, 2012 I am having my gallbladder out in the same surgery as my lapband... They are also fixing a hiatal hernia... three surgeries in one! I never had pain related to my gallbladder, but I got to where I couldn't tolerate eggs and I would get frequent diahrrea after eating. When I mentioned these to my lapband surgeon, he said it was likely a combination of the hernia and gallbladder and sent me for an endoscopy and gallbladder ultrasound. Turned out I have gallstones and a hernia. My lapband surgeon said it was good that the gallbladder was coming out because it usually goes crazy after drastic weightloss and he ends up having to go in and remove the gallbladder a year or so after lapband surgery in most patients. You are lucky your surgeon is willing to do all surgeries in one. My surgeon would not do both my surgeries at once. I almost had to cancel my Lapband surgery because I was not willing to pay my $2500 deductible twice. Good Luck to you!!!
