DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 16, 2012 I use Unjury. I tried a half dozen different Protein Shakes and Unjury is the only one I like. I am 6 months past surgery and I still have a chocolate Splendor shake every morning for Breakfast.< /p>
loseit 28 Posted July 16, 2012 Is there an after taste or chalking texture?
sman342 13 Posted July 16, 2012 I am looking for Protein supplements? I recently bought some Healthwise supplements from a weight loss clinic. they are good but expensive. Does anyone use the unjury supplements advertised on the forum? Looking for suggestions. I love Unjury powders. I have used the strawberry and chocolate with alot of satisfaction. I found them on Amazon.com for $20 and in my hospital's pharmacy for $23. Just for convenience - I have tried Myoplex Lite French vanilla ready to drink and Total Lean Swiss chocolate by GNC. I've liked them all.
bamagal35007 11 Posted July 16, 2012 I use Matrix. It was the one that my Dr. recommended. I was surprised that it taste pretty good.
prodigy805 2 Posted July 16, 2012 I use the injury chocolate splendlor, it's yummy, and no aftertaste. I also really enjoy the Atkins drinks taste wise and there ease of being on the go. I also like Nectars chocolate truffle, Cappuccino, and their cookie and cream flavor. I was not a fan of the Isopure, I found they leave a funny aftertaste. I also did not like myoplex, or gelaprotein in fruit punch, I like the orange flavor though. I hope that helps.

Sojourner 2,446 Posted July 16, 2012 I use Wheybolic Extreme (half measure) 60 from GNC. Most of the ready made shakes are lacking in nutritional value, so it is only in the rare instances for convenience that I use the Atkins shakes.< /span> As you look for a product you like, look for the ingredient of "whey isolate protein". That's the best Protein nutrition choice for bariatric patients.

PandorasBox92264 61 Posted July 16, 2012 I love Isopure dutch chocolate! I have not tried Unjury, but I hear it is good! I do not like most of the products due to their taste! We do add in Kale/Celery/Ginger root/Ice into our shakes and sometimes part of a banana.
Sojourner 2,446 Posted July 16, 2012 Unless you are lactose intolerant, then use whey egg Protein instead of isolate. Whey isolate is generally considered to be lactose free...so I don't know if you tried it and had a negative effect. Individuals who do have lactose intolerance are supposed to be able to use whey isolate protein without difficulties. Soy Proteins are also considered by some to be acceptable, however there is still controversy as to the legitimacy of the claim that soy is a complete protein containing all of the necessary amino acids. I have not studies much about egg protein, and have never heard of them as a prime ingredient for necessary Protein Shakes.< /span> Whey isolate has been, and as per my surgeon's instructions, continues to be the "gold standard" of protein choice for bariatric patients. BTW, I do have allergies to dairy products, however the need for adequate protein trumps the need to take medication for my allergies. Your mileage does vary... NoMoBand 278 Posted July 16, 2012 Here's a strange one, but, works for me. After a stuck episode I will go on 2-3 day liquids and because I am lactose intolerant and also so tired of the sweet Proteins, I will take 1/2 cup to a cup of pinto Beans, add the juice and a little beef bouillon and puree in the blender. I find it very filling, but, can only handle it once in a while. Probably not the best in nutritional value, but, just a change from the sweet stuff.
missymobaby 23 Posted July 16, 2012 I ordered the sample pack of Unjury to try it and really liked the chocolate splendor. The vanilla is good too but needed something added to it like fruit maybe. I added the unflavored to my strawberry crystal light at it was decent. Haven't tried the chicken Soup flavor yet. I will be buying a container of the chocolate splendor though this week. JustDoIt130 369 Posted July 16, 2012 I heart unjury! Some recipes I use- 1 scoop chocolate splendor, 1 c skim milk and a couple ice cubes- really cold chocolate milk! 1 scoop vanilla Unjury, 1 c skim milk, 1 Tbsp sugar free pistachio (or butterscotch) pudding mix. OR, my favorite 1 scoop vanilla unjury, 1 c trop 50 orange juice, 5-6 frozen strawberries and about 1/2 c ice. I drink this almost every morning. And Jake- they have a really good chicken broth one! Only bummer is you can't have it hot, only warm, because the Protein clumps at higher temps. SOmeone on another board said they mix up a cup of the broth and then mix it into cream Soups, which I am going to try after my next fill! It tastes a lot like Lipton chicken noodle Soup to me, my fave... I use an immersion blender to mix all my shakes, it's less messy than a blender, more convenient, and I REALLY hate lumps, it's icky. Hope this helps! I did try other Protein Shakes, just didn't like the lumpiness/texture/chalkiness of them... YMMV!! Nicki
