A whole lot a

of reality is setting in. My surgery is tomorrow morning at 7:30am CST. A lot of mixed emotions..everything from thrilled and excited to nervous and scared to death. Lost 15 lbs during the past 2 weeks on the pre-surgery diet only 80 lbs to go to reach my goal of 135...tomorrow is the first day of my new beginning

It's not as bad as it is probably in your head, at least for me it was not. I was really nervous, scared, and hate needles, blood, and all that kind of fun stuff, so even getting the IV was hectic :) But you will get through it and the sooner you get up and walk after surgery the better you will feel. They had me in this chair right after and when I woke up I wanted to cry and then got mad and then cry again, but that's the anesthesia come to find out, I was wondering what in the world was wrong with me. :) I was sore, but not excruciating pain or anything, but when I got up and walked, I felt a hundred times better.

All will go well Jen. Enjoy and relax today. Then rest when you get home, except for your walking. I started in the house and progressed to the yard and now I am walking 2 miles daily. My surgery was 6/25/12. I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Let us know how it goes

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
