I do have 1-2 8oz cups of coffee per day. With half & half, and sweetened with splenda. It is the one they I could not give up. Unlike many who drink for the caffeine I actually enjoy the flavor! LOL!

I drink A LOT of tea everyday. I gave up sodas but I cannot give up the tea. I have to have my caffeine!

I did, for a while almost 2 years. But I have gotten lax and started drinking a bit more caffeine (currently working almost 90 hours a week due to overtime so gotta stay away somehow lol)

I drink Decaf hot/iced. I use fat-free coffe-mate Creamer and 0 calorie equal when I make it at home. At the coffee shop, I get it with easy cream and equal. I've tried it with skim, it just doesn't do it for me.

I do drink iced tea or coffee almost daily. I don't drink sodas though. I don't drink more than a glass or two so I am not worried about too much caffeine. Just like anything else, moderation is important.

I drink espresso with canned light whipped cream which adds the creaminess and sweetness and very few calories. It's my favorite part of the day and I have between 2-3 shots.

I LOVE coffee! Even on a good day when my willpower is at it's highest, I don't want to give it up. I'm trying to work my way up to drinking it black because I just can't tolerate artificial sweeteners (still experimenting with finding on that I like too), but it hasn't been easy. Still, not giving up! I'm a 2-3 cups a day person.

I just went back to coffee at 3 weeks post op. I was drinking Decaf tea at home, but I can't do decaf coffee.

I usually have one cup of coffee in the morning, then at home I drink regular tea with splenda. Usually at work I have some tea flavored something in my Water (I dislike plain Water SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH).

Since I've been drinking coffee daily since I was 16 yrs. old, I would definitely say that I'm a caffeine addict! I've tried to switch to Decaf, but get terrible headaches. Since I was banded (July 2010), I've gone from 3-4+ large cups/mugs to 1-2 daily, with Splenda and fat free unflavored creamer or just with fat free flavored creamer. My coffee us the one thing that I just won't give up. Sodas are out, alcohol is out, but I need my coffee!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
