Banded 7/10. Not hungry, feel full all the time. Drinking Protein Shakes, but always feel full. Have a 14cc band, don't know how much was put in during sx. Is this how I'm suppose to feel? I'm staying on a schedule and forcing myself to eat.

ur not doing anything wrong at all. ur full all the time cause ur still swollen. give urself time and u will see how hungry u feel in a few days when the swelling goes down. stick with the shakes and give urself lots of Water to keep hydrated and maintain ur nutrition.. but ur not doing anything wrong at all.. what ur feeling is perfectly normal.

It's very normal. Your stomach is still swollen from surgery so it might be a little bit before your appetite comes back. Just be sure to drink lots of Water stay hydrated above all else, otherwise just do your best to get in Protein shakes when you can.

I found carrying a small bottle of Water around with me during all waking hours helpful after surgery. This way I could just constantly take little sips off it. Dannon actually makes these little 8oz bottles of water, I found them to be perfect for me to carry around with me post surgery.

Right on track, keep drinking the water! You will look back at this time and say "oh to not be hungry!!"

I was banded on the 29th of June and yesterday was the first time I really felt hunger and I wouldn't have even known that's what it was except my tummy actually growled. It will come back ;) but enjoy it while it doesn't... I hope what you're feeling is what the green zone is going to be like :). Best of luck to you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
