Look this sight has a lot of mean and angry ppl on it. If u are mean for no reason dont answer ppls questions. Some ppl come on this sight for support or advise N some of y'all when u reply Are so mean N evil it's crazy. Have y'all ever thought abt maybe someone might be an emotionAl eAter and with the surgery they can't and maybe your evil comment or reply might put someone over the edge. My god ppl come on we all r going down the same journey some ppl it's going to be harder then others. Try and be nice and caring when answering to posts. I am sick of y'all nasty comments and when I see them I pray to god the person who recieved the comment is strong enough to take it.

Over the edge of what?

I'd rather hear the truth, than platitudes.

Not sure what you're referring too, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a mean spirited comment on this forum. I do see people be bluntly honest and refuse to coddle people, but always for their own good never mean spirited.

Just my two cents based on what I've seen.

I've seen Alot of "know it all" comments. I've also seen people who come off as if they are so perfect and never make a mistake. It really burns me up when I see it.

I think the problem is that this is the internet. When you read a typed message you cannot see the facial expressions or the body language. Therefore a typed message that is direct and to the point may come across as abrupt or uncaring. People should read the content and stop trying to analyse the emotion behind it.

The other thing people forget is that most of us lead busy lives. It takes time to type responses and sometimes there are lots that require some kind of response. We don't have time to dress things up and add kittens and fairydust etc.

I think most of us do care or we wouldn't still be here years after getting our bands and losing what we needed to lose.

I thought people were behaving pretty well here. It was much worse in 2009, but even then was pretty tame when you compare with other places online. I read/post pretty much every day and I guess I could have missed all this mean, evil and angry stuff you are talking about.

I think if you ask a question you have to know you are gonna get all types of answers because we are all different people with our own opinions.

If you don't want what people really think I say don't ask. I have never seen people be “evil” sometimes the truth hurts us all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
