Band Tightness

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday I easily ate a crispy chicken salad Well come Thursday I thought I had so much luck on Wednesday getting to eat the salad I tried again and I couldn't get 6 bites down I literally threw up all the food. Does not drinking enough Fluid one day make your band tighter or "dry" so it's harder for things to go down? Because I know I didn't drink near enough fluid yesterday.

I've have trouble eating something one day and the next day the same thing goes down fine. I've not associated it with how much I've had to drink in a day though. I just think I have a fickle band.

If you got dehydrated it would definitely effect it, however I suspect it's like Toddy said- fickle band.

Mine varies greatly, too. Some days I have no problems whatsoever, other days it seems like I'm feeling stuck every time I eat. I also get that "first bite syndrome" sometimes, too. I'll eat 3 or 4 bites and immediately feel semi-stuck, wait 5-10 minutes, then I feel fine and am able to continue my meal.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
